Fay Butler is an award-winning illustrator and recent graduate of Birmingham City University, based in Birmingham, UK. Working across mediums including acrylic gouache and digital pens, Fay creates vibrant portraits, patterns, and prints that reflect her core values of women empowerment and inclusivity.
Her portfolio spans editorial, publishing, and design, with highlights including Modern Muses: Portraits of Inspirational Modern Women, a project that earned her a CoAD Award. Fay has also recently developed a strong interest in surface pattern design, which she is exploring through repeat prints and textile-inspired compositions.
Most recently, she spent time in Tasmania, Australia, designing fresh branding and painting large-scale murals for a finance company, an experience that expanded her skill set and confidence as a multidisciplinary artist.
When she’s not drawing, Fay enjoys exploring art markets and travelling to new places in search of fresh inspiration.
In addition to her illustration practice, Fay has a small online business, offering original designs as giclee prints.
